I FINALLY FINISHED THE DANG NEUVILUMI FIIICCC RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
i was waiting to post abt it here so that i could get a few more chapters out (since it's a mystery fic and those are always more intriguing when u have more information), but let's GOOO. [link if u want it, check tags before u read guys]
meanwhile Genshin keeps dropping events that make my head spin w/ h/c's (LANTERN RITE?????????????) and to add on to it i'm now thinking abt Lumi with wings,,,, my brain does not function well guys u'd think i'd be better at this lmfao.
on top of that, the amt of writing i've been doing is ungodly??? i went and checked w/ some friends to see what my current word count is for all the fic pieces i've written for these idiots and it's like???? almost 600k??????? i'd have to do another count up but god my writing is in so many different places it's not even funny. HALF OF IT ISN'T EVEN GOOD-- I'm ONLY POSTING THE STUFF I DEEM GOOD. and i keep writing. i've got like six other fics i'm thinking abt at any given time. what am i gonna do when i go to write Clockwork Waltz??? i'm still figuring out what i add to the SNAPSHOTS--
aside from writing, Genshin itself is feeding me w/ the quests n shit. i lost my mind over Natlan Archon quests and everything (won't spoil anything in this post dw, but def considering a mini fic or two in response to some things)
i've also been debating if i start finishing fanart to post here? b/c i've noticed a lack of fanart for a very specific ship that i'm thinking of and it's killing me b/c i need more of it. anyway, i'm done rambling abt shit, i'm gonna go back to writing lmfao

FONTAINE MADE ME A WRECK! I've always loved Childe's goofy ass so I was so happy when I saw him at Fontaine and even joked to my friends about how much Childe loved me and that's why he left his vision with me (and also came on only 10 wishes~)
By the end of the first quest i was so distraught when Childe was taken to Meropide like??? Neuvilette please we all know he isn't the kidnapper 😭
And then the second part absolutely destroyed me CHILDE PLEASE WHAT ARE YOU DOING COME BACK sobs.
But the scene by the end of the archon quest where he's floating in the water was so epic! The Leviathan too waaa i got so hyped up because I'm such a nerd for sea monsters and like- anything sea related.
—Eel anon
(one of my partners was so happy when Childe disappeared 🥲 and the other was panicking with me)
(under the cut just in case of Archon quest spoilers!!)
I knew something was not quite right when we first meet him again in Fontaine and he essentially tells us, "I think I'm going crazy and I can't trust myself with my Vision lol. So look after it for me!" (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ like... CHILDE????? IS EVERYTHING OKAY???? >_< and then when he almost activates Foul Legacy during his court case LOL. I was salivating during that scene WOOOOOOOOO I always forget just how fine his Foul Legacy form is. OTL
I can't believe his presence in Fontaine is even real. The idea of Childe in prison is so funny to me. My babygirl was a little too silly and now he's in the underwater jail doing time. Someone free him (jk he already did that himself hehe). He did nothing wrong!!! Jokes aside, it was interesting to see Traveler's dreams of him and witness his final moments up until he eventually escapes. The ending with the huge leviathan was so amazing and left me so speechless in the aftermath (Genshin, this cliffhanger hurts my soul. I must know what happens next. T^T). My jaw dropped. I went from: omg Childe!!!!! What're you doing in there?!?!! to oh. OHHHHHH WHOA OMG AAAAAAAAAAAAA. I'm hoping for his safety because the idea of Childe being killed off is so T_T but then I've also seen theories about how he might lose his eye and that maybe that beta design of Childe won't be so farfetched anymore........ so many thoughts in my egg brain. orz orz orz
Fontaine has evoked so much emotion from me. I was genuinely anxious during the scene with Arlecchino and Furina. (ó﹏ò。) I'm truly enjoying exploring the nation and also completing the Archon quest and world quests! It's been so much fun.
(Omg your partner being happy for Childe's disappearance... ;;; my coworker was also happy when he was promptly stopped by Neuvillette and then when he got thrown in jail. >:( I'm diving into the sea to save Childe as we speak!!!!)
#genshin chit chat#eel anon#i'm so fishbrained so when i saw berrypuff's enclosure during exploration#i thought ':o imagine captive azul existing here...'#aaaaa diving is so fun <3 i hope you're also enjoying your exploration of fontaine dearest eel!!!! :D

Having some thoughts about the archons so far
Something I've noticed in regards to the archons and their stories so far is that in terms of character development, for Ei, we see her in the process of it and for Zhongli, we see the effects of its aftermath.
Venti, in the present story, doesn't seem to go through any or much of it and seems to have already done so long ago, he's just doing what he still does now. And I feel like it makes sense since Mondstadt is the introductory chapter that serves to ground us into the story's world and where we first discover things. We see it as is without seeing much major change. Their lives continue, the winds still blow, and the world still turns.
With Zhongli, he's had his realizations before we arrive and we got swept up in the middle of a change in the tides. I feel like his Archon Quest really puts the theme of change out there, that the past has already done its job and is now time to move forward through the foundations it had established. We get to look back to its past while helping out in the preparations to bid farewell and move on.
For Ei, we have a hand in setting off a change. Her ideals, the stolen ambitions, the elemental phenomena in a couple islands were set and clinging on the past, not moving on from it, and everything festers and boils over. Inazuma was the nation in which we've triggered the most change both in the story and environments. In the first two regions, they've already gone through and are in the process of going through change. Here, the change is beginning to be planted.
And I find it kinda neat how the nations reflect their respective archon's character development where we see it.
It makes me wonder how this might continue on, if we come across the other archons in different stages. Maybe we see the Dendro Archon in the middle of it, maybe one of them is a revolving door. Perhaps even a corruption arc, who knows
#genshin impact#venti#zhongli#raiden ei#rambles#a little disclaimer tho: I haven't seen the archon quests in a while so I might have missed something#but mostly these are just some thoughts I'm having after playing Imperatrix Umbrosa Act 2#also I brought the waverider to Falcon Coast in Mond from Inazuma so there's that
